Peace of Paradise Village, Phase 1

Project Details

The City of Manning, supported by USDA grants, has provided water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater services to the Alcolu Town Center Project. The project is located in Alcolu, SC, along SC Highway 521, approximately 0.5 miles northeast of Interstate 95. In 2005, the Have Faith Community Development Corporation acquired approximately 420 acres in the Town of Alcolu to initiate the Alcolu I-95 Revitalization Project. This rural development project aims to revamp an underutilized corridor in Alcolu.

The project's first phase involves developing 11.49 acres of a 24.98-acre tract in Alcolu, SC. It comprises surveying, designing, and permitting 30 single-family residential lots and an amenities area. The project demands a new retention pond to drain the proposed runoff, a new water and sanitary system, and a sanitary sewer pump station to tie into the existing water and sewer system along Sumter Highway. Atlantic South provided a professional engineering report and an environmental study to acquire USDA funding to support the project.

The City of Manning has consented to extend its water and wastewater mains to serve the project. The proposed extensions will comprise approximately 1800 feet of 6" water mains, approximately 1970 feet of 8" wastewater mains, an 80-gallon per minute pump station, and 2120 feet of 4" force mains. The project aims to provide safe and sufficient water service, fire service, wastewater, and stormwater service to 30 residences within the first phase of this project.
