Johns Island Airport: Runway Safety Area Improvements

Project Details
Atlantic South provided a Resident Project Representative (RPR) whose primary responsibility was to ensure that the construction activities were executed in accordance with the specifications outlined in the contract documents and in alignment with the established professional engineering and consulting practices. The RPR played a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating the various aspects of the site work, serving as the main point of contact between the engineer and the contractors, as well as sub-consultants throughout the construction phase.
Additionally, the RPR was tasked with the preparation and maintenance of detailed construction quality estimates, which were utilized in the review of payment applications and to keep track of the overall progress of the construction work. Furthermore, the RPR diligently prepared daily construction progress reports highlighting the activities carried out on-site and submitted these reports to the engineer for thorough review. In addition to the daily reports, comprehensive monthly construction summary reports were also compiled by the RPR, providing an overview of the completed work, and were again submitted to the engineer for detailed scrutiny.
Furthermore, the RPR was intricately involved in coordinating all aspects of quality assurance testing, inspections, and surveying, collaborating closely with the appropriate sub-consultants to ensure that all necessary quality assurance measures were effectively carried out throughout the construction process.
